Diploma in Applied Theology

an all-round equipping for effective Gospel ministry

The next Diploma in Applied Theology course starts in September 2016.
The two-year Diploma in Applied Theology course is designed to prepare students for a wide variety of Christian service, equipping them to think in a biblically balanced and creative way. The third term of each year includes an extended period of summer mission work as an integral part of the course.  The College Diploma, internally validated by the College, is awarded to all students who successfully complete the course.   The Certificate in Applied Theology is awarded to students who successfully complete the first year of the Diploma course but are not continuing to second year.

Our goal is that at the end of training students will be recognised as spiritually mature believers, able communicators of the Christian message and capable leaders in Christian work.

Assessment is done by means of a combination of written assignments and examinations, while ministry and outreach activities are assessed and evaluated ‘on the job’.

Everything in the course is designed to contribute to a student's spiritual formation in Christ. Great emphasis is placed on the importance of the development of lifetime habits of prayer and devotion. Special periods are built into the weekly timetable for this important part of the training we offer.

We have introduced an optional third year to the course which takes the form of an apprenticeship scheme in which students get the opportunity for extended experience of different types of ministry along with time spent at the College in research, study and reflection.  Read more here.
