For your Friend’s Bookshelf

The Manhattan pastor of Redeemer Church, Tim Keller, has released a new book of reflections on the life of Jesus in Mark ’s gospel: “King ’s Cross”. He considers how Jesus ’ identity as The King and His mission in going to The Cross help us to fully understand the story of the world and how we make sense of our lives in His life.

This is a superb book to give to someone seeking to think more about who Jesus really was. Indeed it would serve as a perfect parallel book to run alongside a Christianity Explored course, giving fresh and valuable insights. Keller ’s style is very accessible but also is an apologetic reaching into today ’s dominant worldviews to challenge them to think about what they really believe and how they live. He seeks to confront people with the Gospel – the only story that truly understands every person and their fundamental need for the grace of God revealed in Christ.

If you want to rekindle your first love for the Lord Jesus, then this is a valuable investment. I read this book while on Spring Mission and it helped me to minister from an overflow of praise to God for giving me Christ.
